Barokas ir betonas / Baroque and Concrete
The paradoxical relation between architecture and photography found in Liudas Parulskis photo manipulations actualises the importance of artistic creativity. Liudas Parulskis, who was initially trained as an architect, creates buildings-centaurs: he merges details of Baroque architecture into mass-construction apartment buildings and vice versa. These conceptual puzzles emphasise different modalities of time, interactions between architecture and ideology. Parulskis’ work is a series transformations of physical and virtual urban landscapes; it activates the processes of thinking and reflecting. The book will also contain 3D illustrations; to fully expierence them 3D glasses will be provided, as well as a box of matches, designed exclusively for this occasion.
